Kim was interviewed by Sistah Joy Alford in May 2023 for “Sojourn with Words,” a monthly half-hour program on Prince George’s County Public Television. Kim talked about her anthology By Broad Potomac’s Shore; her forthcoming book Corona/Crown, created in  collaboration with photographer Robert Revere; and other projects. Kim also read four new love poems.

A poem of Kim’s, “Two Hands,” was selected by Linda Sullivan, CEO of ArtsFairfax, for Poetry Lives Here, a series of videos released by ArtsFairfax for National Poetry Month 2022. In this series, prominent residents of Fairfax, Virginia each reads a favorite poem, released one-a-day throughout the month.

Kim was featured in the Cultivating Voices Live Poets series for a special Juneteenth Celebration, discussing poems from her anthology, By Broad Potomac’s Shore: Great Poems from the Early Days of Our Nation’s Capital, that reflect themes of the holiday, including abolitionism, activism, and continued civil rights movements, including reparations and DC statehood. Hosted by Sandra Yannone, June 2021.

Kim is interviewed by Grace Cavalieri for the acclaimed series “The Poet and the Poem from the Library of Congress” discussing her anthology, By Broad Potomac’s Shore: Great Poems from the Early Days of Our Nation’s Capital, in October 2020. Cavalieri also interviewed Kim reading her own poetry in 2018.

In “Poetic Forbears to the Black Lives Matter Movement,” Kim discusses three poets who were born enslaved yet rose to become leaders in the struggle for Black autonomy during and after the Civil War, not to mention writers of note: Fanny Jackson Coppin, Frederick Douglass, and T. Thomas Fortune. June 2020. Also: Kim discusses the enduring importance of traditional verse forms, including the pantoum and the sonnet, May 2020. Both presented on the “Poetry Tuesday” video podcasts sponsored by the “And I Thought” Ladies, Wilnona and Jade.

In “Poetic Inspiration: The Adams Memorial,” Kim discusses the most important piece of funerary art in the U.S., created by Augustus St. Gaudens for Clover and Henry Adams, and all the poetry is has inspired. Recorded for Washington Walks, June 10, 2020.

Kim was featured in the Carole Weinstein Author Series from the Library of Virginia, talking about the history of Abolitionist Poets in Washington, DC and her anthology By Broad Potomac’s Shore with the library’s executive director Scott Dodson, April 2021.

Kim was interviewed about her anthology, By Broad Potomac’s Shore, by Robert L. Giron in the May 2021 issue of ArLiJo. The editor also included poems by seven contributors to the book.

In July 2020, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities released 50 audio interviews with 50 DC artists, to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Kim was one of those featured, talking about the books she’s published, the journal she founded, and DC’s rich literary history.
